Jack Williams

Jack Williams is an earth system scientist, biogeographer, and paleoecologist. He is a Professor of Geography at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and chairs the Executive Committee of the Neotoma Paleoecology Database.
Williams’ research focuses on novel climates and communities, abrupt change, megaherbivore extinctions, paleoecoinformatics, and data‑model syntheses. Work in his lab spans the full spectrum, from field coring of lake sediments to laboratory analyses of fossil pollen, charcoal, and other sediment indicators, to large‑scale syntheses of ecological datasets and climate models at continental and global levels.
Jack Williams is a member of the AEGIS Scientific Advisory Board.
